Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Spanish colleague

Within the framework of the 4th summit of the Council of Europe in Iceland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Albares.
  
At the meeting, the sides talked about the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

Discussions focused on Georgia’s progress on the path of European integration, implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations and the importance of granting the candidate status to Georgia. In this context, the role of Spain as the Incoming EU Presidency was emphasized.

Ilia Darchiashvili thanked his Spanish colleague for his strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, as well as for the country's European aspirations.

The sides once again confirmed their commitment to continue and further intensify the fruitful cooperation between the two countries.

It should be noted that the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, is participating in the 4th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe, which is being held in Reykjavik.

The delegation led by the Prime Minister includes Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.
