Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Greek colleague 

Within the framework of the ongoing NATO summit in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis.

Ilia Darchiashvili congratulated his Greek colleague on his recent appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and expressed his readiness for close cooperation with him.

At the meeting, the sides reviewed the agenda of relations between the two countries. It was noted that Georgia values multidimensional cooperation with the Hellenic Republic, which is based on historical ties and common European values. The ministers spoke about the security climate in the region and emphasized the role of Georgia as a reliable partner of NATO in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Special attention was focused on the process of Georgia's implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations and on Georgia is active efforts to obtain a candidate status. Ilia Darchiashvili noted that the Vilnius summit was very successful for Georgia, as the country received important messages at the said summit.

Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized that the Georgian people appreciate the support of the Hellenic Republic for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as for the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, which is especially important in today's difficult environment. Ilia Darchiashvili invited his Greek colleague to visit Georgia.
