During the session, alongside other cabinet members, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, addressed the participants.

In her speech, the Minister emphasized the close cooperation between Georgia and Hungary and highlighted that the intergovernmental summit represents the highest level of political engagement between the two countries. She noted that the summit serves as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen and deepen bilateral relations across all areas.

Minister Botchorishvili expressed her gratitude to the Hungarian partners for their firm and principled support of Georgia’s sovereignty and European aspirations.

“We value Hungary’s clear and unwavering support for Georgia. Against the backdrop of the serious challenges we face, Hungary’s principled and vocal stance carries great significance for our country,” the Minister stated.

She also underscored Hungary’s role in defending Georgia’s positions within the European Union and other international organizations, emphasizing that this support is grounded in shared values and principles. The Minister further stressed the importance of Hungary’s practical assistance in the context of Georgia’s EU integration process, particularly through expert-level cooperation.

“Given the developments in our region and beyond, the exemplary cooperation between Georgia and Hungary is vital not only for strengthening bilateral ties but also for upholding values and principles that, unfortunately, are increasingly under attack,” Botchorishvili noted.

She extended special thanks to her Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, attributing the positive momentum in Georgia–Hungary relations to his active engagement and support.

During the session, it was noted that the strategic partnership between Georgia and Hungary holds considerable potential, and both sides are committed to making full use of the opportunities it offers.
