Ilia Darchiashvili has met with Péter Szijjártó

During the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó.

The meeting addressed the close friendly and strategic partnership established between the two countries. The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation. Attention was drawn to Hungary's presidency of the Council of the European Union and ongoing and planned events, as well as the progress of Georgia's integration process into the European Union.

While discussing trade and economic cooperation between the countries, emphasis was placed on the importance of the agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments between the governments of Georgia and Hungary, which was signed this year. The positive dynamics of high-level visits exchanged between the two countries was also noted.

Ilia Darchiashvili expressed gratitude to his colleague for Hungary's unwavering support of Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the country's foreign policy goals.

At the end of the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation between Georgia and Hungary.
