On 23 May 2023, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia, held a meeting with members of the Czech Chamber of Deputies and the Senate's EU Affairs Committee.
The sides emphasized the priority of close cooperation between Georgia and the Czech Republic.
Discussions focused on Georgia's foreign policy priorities and the issues related to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration. In this context, the First Deputy Minister informed the Czech parliamentary delegation about the reforms carried out by Georgia and the significant progress on the implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations. The sides highlighted Georgia's European aspirations and the civilizational choice to become a member of the European Union that reflects the unshakable will of the Georgian people.
Georgia's integration into NATO and the priorities of our country in this regard were also emphasized.
Talking points included environment in the region. Special emphasis was put on the difficult security, human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied regions of Georgia and emphasized the special importance of further strengthening the partner support.
The Czech delegation confirmed its support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
