On 6 May 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Roland Beridze (with residence in Pretoria), presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Prithvirajsing Roopun.
During the meeting held as part of the presentation ceremony, the parties discussed issues on the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda. It was emphasized that the relationship between Georgia and Mauritius is based on universally recognized principles of international law, including respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty. In addition to political partnership, the sides acknowledged the potential for further development of economic, people-to-people, and tourism ties, as well as for sharing Georgia’s successful reform experience across various sectors.
President Roopun expressed Mauritius’ strong interest in deepening relations with Georgia. He reaffirmed that Mauritius is, and will continue to be, a steadfast supporter of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The ceremony was attended by Uday Gujadhur, Honorary Consul of Georgia in the Republic of Mauritius.
