Georgian Delegation has Attended Inauguration of the President of the Republic of Ecuador

From 23 to 25 May 2025, a Georgian delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia, paid a visit to the Republic of Ecuador to attend the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President, Daniel Noboa Azín.

On 23–24 May, within the framework of the inauguration events, the Deputy Minister participated in several official ceremonies, including the swearing-in at the National Assembly of Ecuador and the religious service held at the Cathedral of Quito.

As part of the official proceedings, on behalf of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia congratulated President Daniel Noboa on his election and extended his best wishes for success in leading the country. Highlighting the fruitful cooperation between Georgia and Ecuador, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to further deepening bilateral relations. During the visit, Deputy Minister Darsalia also held discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, who welcomed the participation of a high-level Georgian delegation in the presidential inauguration.

On 25 May, Lasha Darsalia held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, Carlos Játiva. The two sides discussed key areas of productive cooperation between Georgia and Ecuador and explored opportunities for further strengthening bilateral ties, including in the areas of trade and economy, academic exchange, and people-to-people contacts. The meeting also underscored the high level of mutual support and coordination between the two countries in multilateral forums.

The official Georgian delegation also included Ambassador of Georgia to Ecuador (residing in Buenos Aires), Guaram Khandamishvili.
