Levan Tsurtsumia, Ambassador of Georgia to the Portuguese Republic, presented his credentials to the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. The official credential presentation ceremony was held at the Presidential Residence, the National Palace of Belém.
Following the ceremony, a bilateral meeting took place between the President of Portugal and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia. President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa wished the Georgian Ambassador success in his future endeavors.
For his part, Ambassador Tsurtsumia reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to further deepening the friendly and partnership-based relations between Georgia and Portugal. The meeting also addressed the prospects for future bilateral cooperation and discussed the current regional situation.
As part of the official ceremony, a military parade was held in the courtyard of the National Palace of Belém, during which the military orchestra performed the national anthems of Georgia and Portugal.
