Ilia Darchiashvili has held a phone call with Jeyhun Bayramov

On 9 February 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister congratulated Ilia Darchiashvili on his re-appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and wished him success in his future work.

On the other hand, Ilia Darchiashvili congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the successful conduct of the elections.

The colleagues discussed the existing strategic partnership between the two countries and positively assessed the existing dynamics of high-level cooperation as well as the ongoing processes in the region.

As Ilia Darchiashvili noted, the strategic partnership and historic friendship between Georgia and Azerbaijan will continue and further strengthen under the new head of the Georgian government.

The Georgian Foreign Minister once again confirmed Georgia’s commitment  to promote peace and stability in the region.
