On 12 June 2024, a transport conference for Central Asian countries was held in Astana, organized jointly by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Commission. The event focused on the implementation of the coordination platform for the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Invited participants included countries along the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey.

The conference was inaugurated by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabayev. Attendees included Henrik Holloway, the Director General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission, as well as representatives from the USA, EIB, EBRD, WB, OECD, USAID, and Kazakhstan. Additionally, members of the EU diplomatic corps in Kazakhstan were present.

During the event, the Georgian delegation welcomed the launch of the newly established coordination platform, hoping it would serve as a crucial mechanism for attracting investment, coordinating efforts, and efficiently implementing projects within the Middle Corridor.

Participants received updates on transport routes through Georgia, including efforts to enhance the appeal and efficiency of the Middle Corridor. This included information on the progress and future plans for large-scale infrastructure projects by the Georgian authorities and activities aimed at streamlining customs procedures for efficient cargo transit.
