Teimuraz Janjalia has met with the Ambassador of Ireland to Georgia

On 22 June 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teimuraz Janjalia, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Georgia (with residence in Sofia) Martina Finn.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the growing dynamics in bilateral relations. They welcomed the visit of the Speaker of the Irish Parliament to Georgia, which is another manifestation of the fruitful cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries.

Attention was focused on the importance of mutual exchange of high-level visits and regular political dialogue between the foreign ministries.

The sides also emphasized the growing trade and economic relations and noted that it is necessary to fully utilize the existing potential. At the meeting, special attention was paid to Georgia's accession to the European Union.

Teimuraz Janjalia informed the Irish diplomat in detail about the progress achieved by Georgia both in terms of fulfilling the obligations stipulated by the association agenda and the recommendations of the European Commission. The irreversibility of the reforms implemented by the country was emphasized. The sides also exchanged views on the oral report of the European Commission.

At the meeting, they talked about the situation in the region and reviewed the existing security environment. Special emphasis was placed on the challenges facing Georgia. In this context, Teimuraz Janjalia emphasized the importance of the involvement of international partners.
