The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announces an open competition for individuals seeking employment in the diplomatic service.
The objective of the open competition is to fill vacant diplomatic positions within the Ministry’s central apparatus, as well as to replenish the reserve of the diplomatic service with qualified specialists who possess the requisite education, expertise, and professional experience. Candidates who successfully pass the competition will either be appointed to vacant diplomatic positions within the central apparatus or enrolled in the reserve list of the diplomatic service.
The competition has been announced for the following vacant diplomatic positions in the Ministry’s central office:
Advisor, Division for Promotion of Foreign Investments and Exports, Department of International Economic Relations (to be subsequently posted abroad in Georgia’s diplomatic missions as Minister Plenipotentiary with economic functions);
First Secretary, Division of Multilateral International Treaties and Legal Analysis, Department of International Law;
Third Secretary, Division of Multilateral International Treaties and Legal Analysis, Department of International Law;
Third Secretary, Division of Sectoral Integration, Department for EU Assistance Coordination and Sectoral Integration, General Directorate for European Integration;
Attaché, Division for Eastern Partnership, Policy Planning and Analysis with the EU, Department of European Integration, General Directorate for European Integration;
Attaché, Division for Latin America and the Caribbean, Department of the Americas;
Attaché, Department of Strategic Communications;
Attaché, Department of Press and Information;
Attaché, Division for Relations with Foreign Diplomatic Missions and Consular Institutions, Consular Department.
Candidates who successfully complete all stages of the competition but are not appointed to a vacant position will be enrolled in the diplomatic service reserve. Individuals included in the reserve list are entitled to participate in internal selection processes for vacancies announced within the Ministry, in accordance with their qualifications.
It should be emphasized that individuals included in the diplomatic service reserve may engage in paid employment with other institutions during their inclusion in the reserve. The maximum period of enrollment in the diplomatic service reserve is five years.
All citizens of Georgia who meet the qualification requirements specified in the competition announcement are eligible to participate.
