Maka Botchorishvili has met with the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia

Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions focused on key aspects of relations between Georgia and the European Union.

The importance of EU integration for the Georgian government was emphasized, alongside the need for mutual respect in fostering relations with the EU.

It was reiterated that Georgia remains committed to fulfilling its obligations to the EU and is prepared to work towards preparing the country for membership.

The discussion also highlighted the need to resolve recent challenges in the relationship and ensure objective assessments of ongoing processes.

For his part, the EU Ambassador expressed concern over developments in Georgia.

The Georgian side raised concerns about ongoing political speculations related to elections, noting that messages conveyed through the European Parliament’s resolution contribute to creating an artificial crisis in the country, reminiscent of the situation in 2020.

The parties underlined the necessity of dialogue on critical issues.
