Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the Ambassador of Sweden to Georgia 

On 7 November 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held his first meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden, Anna Lieberg.

The minister congratulated the Swedish diplomat on her appointment as ambassador to Georgia and wished her success in her future work.

The sides welcomed the friendly ties and fruitful cooperation between Georgia and Sweden based on common European values and interests. Special accent was put on the importance of mutual exchange of high-level visits and deepening of political dialogue between the countries, both at the bilateral level and within the Nordic region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted with gratitude Sweden's unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized the importance of Sweden's support for granting Georgia an EU candidate status.

Ambassador Anna Lieberg, for her part, confirmed Sweden's unconditional support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European aspirations.
