The sides highlighted the role of the UN in ensuring the peaceful settlement of the conflict and also in protecting the rights of the population affected by the conflict. Special attention was focused on the resolution of the Human Rights Council on "Cooperation with Georgia".
The minister also spoke about the Geneva International Discussions and the special role of the United Nations in this process.
