The first meeting in the format of Georgia and Scandinavian countries has been held on the sidelines of the NATO Summit

Within the framework of the NATO Vilnius summit, a working meeting was held for the first time in the format of Georgia and the Scandinavian countries. The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Georgia, Denmark and Sweden and the state secretary of Finland.

At the meeting, the ministers expressed their readiness to continue coordination in this format.

It was emphasized that Georgia considers the Scandinavian countries as valuable friends and reliable partners. The sides welcomed the growing dynamics in relations between Georgia and the Scandinavian countries, as evidenced by frequent exchanges of high-level visits and intensive political dialogue on various issues.

Ilia Darchiashvili once again confirmed Georgia's commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and talked about the tangible results that the country has achieved at this stage. He emphasized that Georgia successfully fulfills the 12 recommendations of the European Commission and is actively working to obtain candidate status. The minister drew special attention to the successful Vilnius summit and stated that Georgia received important messages at the summit. He also focused on the importance of unwavering support of the aforesaid countries for Georgia's integration into the European Union and NATO.

It was highlighted at the meeting that the opening of the Norwegian and Danish diplomatic missions in Tbilisi is yet important step taking the relations between the countries to an even higher level. The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked his colleagues for their support of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including for active involvement in the EU monitoring mission, which is especially important in light of the deteriorating security situation.
 
The sides agreed that regional partnership platforms are gaining increasing importance in light of the current geopolitical challenges.
