Within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Finland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Minister of European Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Anders Adlercreutz.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the main areas of existing cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions also focused on the key issues on the agenda of Georgia-EU relations and the progress achieved on the path of Georgia's accession to the European Union. In this context, the historical importance of granting the candidate status to Georgia was emphasized. Ilia Darchiashvili noted that the Georgian government continues to work actively to move to the next stage of integration into the European Union. He expressed the hope that Georgia's progress and ambitious reforms implemented in various directions will be properly recognized and appreciated by the European partners.
The Minister thanked the Minister of European Affairs for his strong support for Georgia’s European integration and once again confirmed the Georgian Government’s commitment to further advance on the EU path.
