On 24 July 2023, within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to the Republic of Croatia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with his Croatian counterpart, Gordan Grlić Radman.
Discussions focused on bilateral and multilateral relations between Georgia and Croatia, as well as prospects of deepening cooperation in various fields.
The sides highlighted the importance of actively continuing the high-level political dialogue and bilateral visits, the need for deepening economic and trade relations.
Darchiashvili briefed Radman on the Georgian Government's progress in implementing the 12 priorities of the European Commission. The Georgian side expressed the hope that its European partners will appropriately recognise and acknowledge the country’s success and achievements in numerous directions.
The sides noted the importance of using Croatia's experience in EU integration.
Talking points included the difficult security, human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Georgia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked his colleague for Croatia's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the country's European aspirations.
As part of Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili’s official visit to the Republic of Croatia, the Georgian delegation also attended the official event of the opening of the Georgian Embassy.
