Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia Meets with Members of the Council of Europe Delegation

On 14 September 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia held a meeting with members of the Council of Europe delegation. The purpose of the visit was to prepare the 34th Consolidated Report of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, entitled “Consolidated Report on the Conflict in Georgia”.  

The Deputy Minister briefed the Council of Europe delegation on the grave security, humanitarian and human rights situation in the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions occupied by Russia, as well as on the latest developments.

The Georgian side discussed the dynamics of the Geneva International Discussions, Russia’s destructive steps, as well as Russia’s failure to comply with the 2008 ceasefire agreement and the need to ensure the return of internally displaced persons and refugees.  

Lasha Darsalia underscored the importance of keeping the Russia-Georgia conflict on the agenda of the international community and, in this context, highlighted the significance of the Secretary General’s consolidated reports.

In conclusion, the Georgian side reaffirmed its commitment to the Government of Georgia’s peace policy.
