Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the Minister for Diaspora of Ireland, Seán Fleming

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with the Minister for Diaspora of Ireland, Seán Fleming. At the meeting, the sides reviewed in detail the successful diaspora policy of Ireland. Ilia Darchiashvili introduced to the Irish side the Government’s approach to Georgian citizens living abroad and noted that the government is actively working to strengthen the Georgian diaspora through the implementation of relevant policies, as well as various projects and programs.

The sides emphasized the important role of the Diaspora in the process of fulfilling the country's foreign policy tasks. Discussions focused on Ireland's successful experience in promoting and strengthening the country's image. The sides noted with satisfaction Georgia's active participation in the Week of Global Greening organized by Ireland.

The Georgian Fooreign Minister  expressed  his gratitude for the active participation of the Irish expert in the process of developing the state strategy for the Georgian diaspora. Seán Fleming received an official invitation to Georgia, which will be a good opportunity to share successful experience on diaspora issues.
