On 2 February 2024, a virtual meeting was conducted between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Chem Vidhya.
The discussions encompassed current matters in the bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, exploring possibilities for future cooperation across various domains.
The Cambodian delegation reiterated its steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.
Within the meeting's framework, a "Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia" was signed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
Both sides expressed their preparedness to conduct the inaugural round of political consultations in the near future.
