The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Matteo Mecacci, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Meeting.
The sides focused on the tradition of Georgia’s fruitful cooperation with the organization, which has significantly contributed to successful democratic reforms in the country in human rights, justice, state institutions, election administration and other important areas.
The Minister provided Matteo Mecacci with comprehensive information on the process of implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations by Georgia. The importance of ODIHR’s role in ensuring the successful implementation of reforms was also noted.
Attention was focused on the involvement of ODIHR in the forthcoming election processes in Georgia. The minister emphasized Georgia's readiness to ensure a free, fair, transparent election process.
