On 16 April 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China and members of the delegation.
The meeting encompassed a wide array of topics regarding bilateral and multilateral cooperation, spanning political, trade-economic, tourism, cultural-humanitarian, and people-to-people interactions. Both sides positively assessed the robust and dynamic nature of their bilateral relations.
A focal point of the discussion was maximizing the opportunities stemming from the strategic partnership between Georgia and China the previous year. One notable outcome of this partnership was the agreement on introducing a visa-free regime, signed on 10 April 2024.
The Chinese delegation reiterated their support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders. Minister Darchiashvili, in turn, reaffirmed Georgia's unwavering support for the one China principle.
