On 17 February 2024, within the framework of the Munich conference, Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with the acting chairman of the OSCE and the Minister of Foreign, European and Trade of Malta, Ian Borg.
The foreign ministers of the two countries discussed Malta's priorities and existing challenges within the framework of the OSCE chairmanship, as well as the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia. Darchiashvili expressed gratitude to his counterpart for ensuring that Georgia remains a prominent topic on the OSCE's agenda at the highest level.
Discussions focused on the European integration agenda of Georgia. Malta's firm support for the country's foreign policy aspirations was emphasized. Additionally, there were plans for the acting chairman of the OSCE to visit Georgia in the near future.
