The Ambassadors’ Conference 2024 continues in a working format

The annual meeting of the heads of Georgia's diplomatic missions abroad, the Ambassadors' Conference 2024, continues in a working format under the theme "Georgia's Foreign Political Priorities in the Contemporary Geopolitical Reality."

One of today’s key discussion topics was education, culture, and sports. Along with Georgian diplomats, the Minister of Education and Science, Aleksandre Tsulukidze; the Minister of Culture, Tea Rukhadze; the Minister of Sports, Shalva Gogoladze; and the Minister for IDPs, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs, Mikheil Sarjveladze, participated in the discussions.

The focus of the discussion was on the government's objectives and priorities in these fields. Cabinet members spoke about the progress achieved in 2024, the challenges faced, and their plans for the upcoming year.

Aleksandre Tsulukidze elaborated on the advantages and benefits of obtaining higher education in Georgia for foreign students. He highlighted the opportunities Georgia offers to students from abroad. The importance of Georgia's diplomatic missions in promoting the country's potential in this area was also discussed. Furthermore, the conversation touched upon ongoing and planned reforms in the general education sector.

Mikheil Sarjveladze focused on expanding the universal healthcare program, increasing accessibility to treatments for oncology, chronic, and rare diseases, as well as the activities of the Solidarity Fund and the state programs for managing Hepatitis B and C. He also addressed the growth in state allowances for targeted groups, social rehabilitation services for the population, and child welfare services. Additionally, the minister emphasized the government’s employment programs and reintegration efforts for returning migrants.

In the cultural sector, Tea Rukhadze discussed the significance of cultural diplomacy in the context of Georgia’s global positioning. The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this area was also highlighted. According to the minister, the Foreign Ministry collaborates with international institutions and organizes various cultural events abroad, which contributes to raising awareness of Georgia on the international stage and sharing knowledge and education. The conversation also touched on future plans in this domain.

Shalva Gogoladze reviewed the major achievements of Georgian athletes in various sports in 2024. He spoke about the large-scale international tournaments planned in Georgia and emphasized the importance of the involvement of embassies and the diplomatic corps in hosting international events.

The discussions underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing education, culture, health, and sports as key pillars of Georgia's international presence and development in the global arena.
