Maka Botchorishvili Meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov

On 8 June 2026, during her visit to Istanbul, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

The parties discussed issues related to the strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Georgia-Azerbaijan political dialogue, the progress achieved in trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as prospects for further strengthening bilateral collaboration.

The significance of the resumption of passenger railway services was highlighted in the context of strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering the positive dynamics of relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was devoted to joint efforts aimed at implementing regionally significant infrastructure and energy projects. The parties underscored the importance of cooperation in the development of the Middle Corridor and the successful implementation of strategic projects.

The discussion also focused on cooperation within the framework of international organizations and the importance of mutual support.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation in line with the interests of the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties highly appraised the partnership and results achieved through the trilateral cooperation format among Georgia, Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
