Agreement on visa-free travel between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia, which was signed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan, on 12 January 2023, came into force.
The agreement aims to provide more favourable conditions for citizens of Georgia and Armenia. According to the agreement, citizens of Georgia and Armenia have the right to travel from Georgia to Armenia and vice versa with a biometric ID card, via the border checkpoint for international travel. The agreement signed by the prime ministers of the two countries replaces the agreement signed on 19 May 1993 on visa-free movement of citizens of the Republic of Georgia and the Republic of Armenia in their territories.
