Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the newly elected President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

On 15 November 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the newly elected President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pia Kauma. During the meeting, the sides discussed the fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Pia Kauma noted that Georgia is a reliable partner of the OSCE and emphasized the Georgian delegation’s active involvement in and contribution to the work of the Parliamentary Assembly.
 
The sides discussed the current situation in the region. Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized Georgia’s commitment to strengthening regional security.

Discussions focused on the difficult situation in the territories occupied by Russia and the the Georgian side’s peace policy, which serves the purpose of restoring trust, and achieving reconciliation and peaceful de-occupation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs once again thanked the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for his visit and noted that this very visit is a clear message of the OSCE's support for Georgia.
 
During the meeting, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly also congratulated Georgia on the success achieved on the path of European integration. Ilia Darchiashvili noted that the European Commission made a historic decision, which the Georgian people had been waiting for a long time.
