On 17 February 2024, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Igli Hasani.
The meeting highlighted Georgia's progress in European integration, particularly noting the European Council's decision to grant candidate status. Emphasis was placed on the significance of enhancing cooperation towards EU membership and the value of exchanging mutual experiences.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, there was a focus on intensifying political dialogue and facilitating high-level visits. The importance of strengthening economic and tourism relations was also underscored.
Ilia Darchiashvili thanked his colleague for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
The conversation also centred on the fruitful cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
Ilia Darchiashvili invited his Albanian colleague to visit Georgia.
