Maka Botchorishvili hosts representatives of OSCE participating States in connection with Georgia’s candidacy for the 2027 OSCE Chairpersonship

On 23 September 2026, on the margins of the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili hosted representatives of the OSCE participating States with regard to Georgia’s candidacy for the 2027 OSCE Chairpersonship.

The event was attended by foreign ministers and senior diplomats from various countries.

In her address, the Minister underscored Georgia’s responsible approach to its candidacy for the OSCE Chairpersonship and noted that, if entrusted with the Chairpersonship, Georgia’s objective will be to promote dialogue, rebuild trust, advance conflict prevention, and strengthen efforts towards peaceful resolution of conflicts.

According to the Minister, against the backdrop of the challenges facing the European security environment, maintaining channels of communication and upholding international law and agreed principles are of particular importance.

“Georgia is ready to be a Chair for all participating states. We will listen carefully to every participating state. We will engage with every partner, and we will seek common ground,” the Minister noted.

She also emphasized that Georgia’s vision for the Chairpersonship would be centred on strengthening the OSCE’s capacities and advancing the Organization’s role in conflict prevention, confidence-building and the promotion of security and cooperation. 

“Georgia is ready to serve, listen to and bring people together. We are ready to uphold our shared principles, ready to build bridges, and, above all, ready to work together,” stated the Minister for Foreign Affairs. 

At the conclusion of the event, guests had the opportunity to sample Georgian cuisine and wine.
