On 18 February 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Georgia, Hyondu Kim, presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili.
The Minister congratulated Hyondu Kim on his appointment as the first resident Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Georgia and wished him success in his future endeavors. Both sides emphasized that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tbilisi (November 2024) will play a highly positive role in the future development of Georgia-Korea cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economy, education, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
The successful cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries was highlighted, along with the importance of establishing a Georgia-Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group within the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
Maka Botchorishvili expressed gratitude to the Korean side for its unwavering support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral relations.
