Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the President of the Republic of Paraguay

Within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Paraguay, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia was received by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña Palacios. The meeting was held at the President's residence and was also attended by the Chairman of the Paraguayan Chamber of Deputies, Raul Luis Latorre Martinez.

During the meeting, the President extended a warm welcome to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on their first visit to Paraguay since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Both sides highlighted the shared values that underpin the relationship between Georgia and Paraguay and expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation to bolster their close ties.

Discussions centered on the security landscape in Europe, with the President of Paraguay showing interest in Georgia's regional role and its progress towards European integration. The Georgian delegation briefed the President on the situation in the occupied regions, while both sides exchanged views on potential areas of future cooperation.

Recognizing the significant regional and transit roles played by both countries, they expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in trade, economics, tourism, education, and people-to-people contacts. Ilia Darchiashvili underscored the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two nations. Additionally, the President of Paraguay accepted an invitation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to visit Georgia in the future.
