As part of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the historical document recognizing the independence of Georgia in 1919 was exhibited at the Foreign Ministry of Argentina.

On the occassion of the visit of Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, to Argentina, the Foreign Ministry of Argentina organized a significant event which involved the display of a historical decree. The decree, signed by President Ippolito Origoien of Argentina, recognized the independence of Georgia as the first democratic republic. Alongside the decree, official correspondence between the Democratic Republic of Georgia and Argentina from that period was also exhibited. Diana Mondino, a colleague from Argentina, presented copies of these historical documents to Ilia Darchiashvili as a gesture of remembrance and significance.

Minister Mondino highlighted the historical connections between Argentina and Georgia, emphasizing Argentina's recognition of the Democratic Republic of Georgia as a significant and enduring aspect of Argentina's commitment to these shared values.

In response, Ilia Darchiashvili expressed gratitude to his colleague for sharing these important historical documents, recognizing their significance in the history of Georgia's statehood. He reiterated the enduring friendship and ties between Georgia and Argentina, underscoring the deep-rooted common values that continue to strengthen their relationship despite the geographical distance.

It is worth noting that Argentina is the first country in the region to recognize Georgia's independence in 1919.
