On the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Braathu.
The parties discussed the challenges facing the OSCE region in the context of media freedom and independence. The Minister placed particular emphasis on the deliberate disinformation campaigns targeting Georgia, which are aimed at undermining the country’s stability, and underscored the role of the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media in addressing such threats.
Minister Botchorishvili highlighted that ensuring freedom of expression and maintaining a free and pluralistic media environment remains a key priority of the Georgian government.
She also underscored Georgia’s long-standing and productive cooperation with the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and expressed hope for continued close collaboration in the future.
