Ilia Darchiashvili’s meeting with the acting Head of Cabinet of the President of the European Commission

Ilia Darchiashvili met with the acting Head of Cabinet of the President of the European Commission, Fernando Andresen Guimaraes. During their meeting, they underscored the crucial support of the European Commission's President for Georgia's European integration journey and highlighted the involvement of various European Commission structures in reform initiatives.

The decision to grant candidate status to Georgia and the country's ongoing efforts were prominently discussed. The sides positively assessed the Association Council held in February where Georgia was represented as a candidate country. 

Emphasizing that EU integration remains the central goal of Georgia's foreign policy, the government reiterated its readiness to make significant progress and advance to the next phase of cooperation with the European Union.

Both parties reviewed their collaboration dynamics with EU institutions and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation moving forward.
