Ilia Darchiashvili has met with the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia

On 25 August 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili held his meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, Meline Arakelian.

Ilia Darchiashvili congratulated the Dutch diplomat on the start of the diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished her success in her future activities.

The sides noted the existing friendly and partner relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have been growing dynamically over the recent period,  both at the bilateral level and within the international organizations.

Within the framework of the meeting, special attention was paid to Georgia’s European integration process. Ilia Darchiashvili informed the ambassador about the steps Georgia is taking to implement the European Commission’s recommendations and expressed the hope that Georgia's progress and reforms implemented in various directions will be duly recognized, which will be reflected in the relevant decision on granting the country a candidate status.

At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to continue and further intensify cooperation between the two countries.
