Maka Botchorishvili Meets with Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia

On 1 July 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia being on an official visit to Georgia.

The parties reviewed ongoing developments in the region. Their discussions also focused on relations with the European Union and the EU enlargement policy.

Maka Botchorishvili underscored the importance of cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans, particularly with regard to strengthening both political relations and trade and economic ties. The significance of inter-parliamentary cooperation was also highlighted. 

The bilateral official visit of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to Georgia took place in parallel with his participation in the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).
