Maka Botchorishvili meets with Turkish Ambassador Ali Kaan Orbay

On 20 December 2024, a meeting was held between Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, Ali Kaan Orbay.

The Turkish Ambassador congratulated the Minister on her appointment and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Both sides emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership and close bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Turkey.

The significance of the growing exchange of high-level and sectoral visits was highlighted. Discussions covered key issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda within the framework of strategic cooperation. Special attention was given to regional developments and the roles of Georgia and Turkey in promoting stability and peace in the region.

The Turkish side reaffirmed its support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The meeting also explored prospects for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Regional cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, and the necessity of fully realizing the transit and transportation potential of both nations were underscored.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to actively collaborate to ensure the successful development of Georgia-Turkey relations.
