The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the Swedish people on their national holiday

On 13 June 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teimuraz Janjalia attended the event dedicated to Sweden's National Day. The Deputy Minister congratulated the Swedish people on their national day and spoke about the friendly relations between Georgia and Sweden. In this context, Teimuraz Janjalia particularly noted the historic visit of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Tbilisi. 

According to the deputy minister, the Georgian people greatly appreciate Sweden's support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including its extensive involvement in the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM).

 Teimuraz Janjalia spoke about the dynamic cooperation between Georgia and Sweden in political, economic, defense and security fields, as well as in education and culture.

The deputy minister drew special attention to the importance of Sweden's support for Georgia's European integration path.

 
Teimuraz Janjalia also spoke about the country's North Atlantic integration and noted that Georgia makes a great contribution to strengthening global security and stability. In this context, he confirmed his full support for Sweden's integration into NATO.


The deputy minister spoke about the current situation in the region and emphasized once again that Georgia, which has experienced Russian aggression, fully supports the Ukrainian people in the political, diplomatic and humanitarian context.

The deputy minister thanked the Swedish ambassador for his contribution to deepening the ties between the two countries and wished him success in his future work.
