On 29 August 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili held a virtual meeting with Jagoda Lazarević, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, they explored opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation between Georgia and Serbia. The discussion emphasized the value of exchanging expertise in agriculture, information technology, transport, and trade, highlighting the need for close collaboration between relevant state agencies and business communities.
Additionally, they considered the potential for initiating negotiations on a free trade agreement and discussed the possibility of convening an intergovernmental economic cooperation commission in 2025.
