On 7 February 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia, Imamura Akira.
Within the framework of the meeting, the sides reviewed the current issues on the agenda of Georgia-Japan bilateral relations. Discussions focused on the issues of regional and global importance.
The sides welcomed the activation of relations between the two countries over the recent period and the need to further deepen the political-economic ties in all possible areas. Special attention was focused on the importance of exchanging high-level visits and the opportunities in this regard.
The sides agreed that it is important to enhance the quality of Georgia-Japan partner relations, in order to successfully develop the relations between the two countries.
