Georgia Appoints New Ambassadors to the Republic of Italy and Hungary

New ambassadors of Georgia have been appointed to the Republic of Italy and Hungary.

Tamar Liluashvili has been designated as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Italy, as well as the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations international organizations based in Rome (FAO, IFAD, WFP).

Until this appointment, Ms. Liluashvili served as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary. Prior to that, she held the same position in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Ms. Liluashvili brings extensive experience in the public sector, having served as Executive Director of the National Investment Agency of Georgia (Invest in Georgia) and as Deputy Director of the "RM Group."

Nikoloz Laliashvili has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary. He previously served as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Mr. Laliashvili has many years of experience in civil service, having held various positions within the Ministry of Defence and the National Security Council of Georgia. He has also served as a Member of the Parliament of Georgia.

Both ambassadors will assume their new duties on 1 July.
