Maka Botchorishvili has met with the Ambassador-designate of Tajikistan to Georgia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Ambassador-designate of Tajikistan to Georgia, Ilhom Abdurahmon, (residing in Baku).

Minister Botchorishvili congratulated Ambassador Abdurahmon on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The two parties discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing trade and economic ties. Interest was expressed in increasing the volume of Tajik freight transit through Georgia. The discussion also covered the development of bilateral relations in the fields of science, education, culture, and sports. Additionally, both sides reviewed prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the existing formats for consultations between their respective foreign ministries.

Minister Botchorishvili briefed the Ambassador on the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and expressed gratitude for Tajikistan’s support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The conversation also addressed the complex geopolitical environment in the region and the prevailing security challenges. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
