On 5 December 2024, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár.
During the meeting, the ministers emphasized the strong friendly relations and close partnership between the two countries.
They discussed current issues in bilateral relations and explored prospects for future cooperation.
The conversation also focused on ongoing developments in Georgia. Minister Botchorishvili reaffirmed the Georgian government’s commitment to the European integration process, providing updates on progress made and outlining the next steps. In response, Minister Blanár expressed Slovakia’s support for Georgia’s aspirations for EU membership and reiterated his country’s readiness to offer further assistance and cooperation in this process.
Minister Botchorishvili also briefed her Slovak counterpart on the parliamentary elections held in Georgia and shared the initial assessments of international observation missions. She expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s unwavering support for Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The importance of exchanging high-level visits and strengthening intergovernmental ties between the two countries was also highlighted during the meeting.
The ministers also reviewed cooperation within international formats, including the OSCE framework.
From 4 to 6 December 2024, Minister Maka Botchorishvili is participating in the 31st session of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
