The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with Ivana Živković, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the 30-year-long close partnership between the Government of Georgia and UNDP, highlighting key areas of cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on UNDP’s efforts in supporting sustainable development in the country.
The discussion also addressed Georgia’s role in the region, the strategic potential of the Middle Corridor and its growing geopolitical significance. In this context, the importance of UNDP’s engagement in supporting Georgia’s economic and infrastructure development was underlined.
The humanitarian situation in the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia was also among the issues discussed.
As part of her visit to Georgia, the UNDP representative is holding meetings with officials from various line ministries and agencies.
