Maka Botchorishvili has met with the Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs 

On 5 December 2024, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg.

During the meeting, the friendly relations and close cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally, were positively assessed. Discussions focused on ongoing developments in Georgia and the government’s commitment to making maximum efforts for further progress on the path to European integration. Maka Botchorishvili expressed gratitude to her Austrian counterpart for Austria's support of Georgia’s European aspirations.

As noted during the meeting, Austria will continue to stand by Georgia on its path toward EU membership. The Georgian minister also briefed her colleague on the parliamentary elections and the involvement of international observers. The discussion also focused on the security environment in the region.  Maka Botchorishvili highlighted the dire situation in Georgia’s occupied territories.

The Georgian side expressed its gratitude to Austria for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
