On 11 July 2025, within the framework of the annual Dubrovnik Forum, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili held a meeting with Lu Shaye, the Special Representative of the Government of the People’s Republic of China for European Affairs.
The meeting underscored the close ties established as a result of the strategic partnership between Georgia and China. The two sides noted the recent high-level visits, which have significantly contributed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was devoted to enhancing trade and economic relations between the two countries. The discussion also addressed the potential for deepening cooperation in the areas of education, tourism, culture, humanitarian exchange, and people-to-people contacts.
Georgia’s transit potential and the importance of regional cooperation in this regard were also emphasized.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence that the results-oriented partnership between Georgia and China will continue to develop effectively, both bilaterally and on the international stage.
