The Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed  an invitation letter to the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights to send observers to the upcoming Elections to be Held in Georgia

On February 12th of 2024, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed an invitation letter to the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Matteo Mecacci, to send observers to the upcoming Parliamentary Elections to be Held in Georgia.

As outlined in the letter, the goal of the Government of Georgia is to hold transparent, free and fair elections in accordance with international standards and best democratic practices; therefore the Government of Georgia invites representatives of OSCE/ODIHR to observe the 2024 Parliamentary elections.

The letter underscores that Georgia is ready to provide utmost support to the observers in order for them to be able to effectively conduct their functions.

It should be noted that the Governmental Plan for the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission outlines the date for sending out invitations for observers as February of 2024.
