A meeting held with the ambassadors of the European Union and Germany to Georgia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Peter Fischer. During this meeting, the Georgian side communicated to the ambassadors its concerns regarding the participation of Zurab Adeishvili, an individual recognized as a criminal and sought after by the Georgian court, in visits and meetings conducted within the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany.

As conveyed to the ambassadors, Zurab Adeishvili is implicated in high-profile cases, and it is indeed a source of concern that an individual whose criminal actions contravene the principles of democratic and just state is participating in official meetings in EU countries. Naturally, this raises legitimate concerns within Georgian society and undermines efforts aimed at countering anti-Western sentiments.

The Georgian side expressed the hope that both the European Union and its member states would respond appropriately to similar situations in the future.

The ambassadors reiterated their readiness to closely cooperate, addressing both the current bilateral agenda and advancing Georgia's integration process into the European Union.
