On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with Gordan Grlić-Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
The discussion focused on the multifaceted cooperation between Georgia and Croatia. The two sides emphasized the importance of advancing political dialogue, exchanging high-level visits, and the opening of the Embassy of Georgia in Zagreb in 2023.
During the meeting, the Georgian side highlighted that Georgia considers Croatia a reliable partner and expressed appreciation for Croatia’s steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its commitment to Georgia’s European integration aspirations.
The ministers also discussed Georgia-EU relations and the challenges on the path toward European integration. The necessity of continued dialogue between the two countries was underlined.
Regional security issues were also reviewed during the meeting. When addressing the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, the Georgian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the issue high on the international agenda.
The parties further explored opportunities to deepen trade and economic ties and discussed Georgia’s potential as a strategic transit hub.
